Help a Poor Struggling Writer?

I have a request for you, dear readers, as few as you might be.

You see, I’m writing a novella. (It keeps me sane when my as yet unfinished novel threatens to drive me crazy.) It’s fantasy (in this aspect, it is both similar and different to the novel) and I have a relatively clear picture in my mind of what the different places in the story look like.

The only thing I’m having trouble with is the apartment my protagonist lives in when she is in exile. (It will all make sense once you read the story, which all of you will be able to once I publish it.) This apartment is decorated in a very Old World style. It has rooms that look like this:

Or this (minus the strange statue on the left):

My dilemma is this: I do not have a clear picture of what my protagonist’s bedroom in this apartment looks like. I need to know what it looks like so I can properly describe it. If you have any ideas, please let me know! You can leave links in the comments (I will be sure to check the spam to make sure your comment is not consigned to spammy oblivion by Akismet).

  1. Sleek, modern, all chrome, glass, black leather, medium gray walls, very masculine, and confident. And unexpected from the rest of the rooms.

    1. Even though I don’t picture the bedroom quite like that, I do think it would be a good idea to have something completely different and unexpected, and I have a lovely room in mind.
