Random note: I am thinking of switching to a new WordPress theme. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Let me know in the comments!
I found both of these photo essays via the Daily Mail (yeah, I know it’s a bit of a rag, but so what). The first is here and is basically a bunch of photos of ice frozen on a river in Russia, taken up close. It may not sound like much, but the photos are gorgeous.
The next are edited to look like what well-known cities would be in a post-apocalyptic world. These are also done by a Russian, named Vladimir Manyukhin. This LiveJournal entry has a bunch of them (the post is called “Life after the apocalypse”). My favorites are the Moscow-related ones, of course.
However, as an American, this one also particularly resonated with me.
Both are great photo essays that you should definitely take a look at.
(And as always, click on the photos to see them larger.)
