Be Honest: If I Wrote a Book, Would You Read It?

I know you’re out there, dear readers. I see the stats in my site counter, and I know you’re there. In fact, the numbers have been climbing recently and while I’m not sure why, I am certainly not complaining.

Anyway, my question for you today is this: if I wrote a book, would you buy it? This novella I wrote about last June is threatening to morph into a full-fledged novel. I am about one-third of the way finished and when I do finish (which will hopefully be soon, since I am graduating next month and will not have to worry about schoolwork), I plan to publish it as an ebook.

The book is a fantasy novel about a princess named Anna who has to flee her native country due to a revolution. (Yes, I do borrow from history. But the plot is still full of surprises and such.) I have a Pinterest board devoted to this novel – if you don’t follow it or haven’t seen it, go check it out.

Unfortunately, this novel does not have a title yet. I know, that’s such a letdown. But I will think of a title at some point (hopefully). Right now my main question remains: would you buy this and read it?

  1. Yes, if I could get it on my kindle, and if it was priced right.

I buy all sorts of fantasy and sci-fi stories to read, but usually only when I either: 1) Find the concept interesting, 2) Read some of the authors other work and liked it, 3) Know of the author in some manner (like reading their blog!)

    1. Thanks so much for the feedback! 🙂 I definitely plan to make my book available on Kindle, and it won’t be expensive – I’m not certain, but it’ll probably be under $5 (and mostly likely closer to $3).

I’ve heard that blogging is a great way to build an author platform. It makes sense, as (hopefully) my readers like my writing and will therefore eventually buy books that I write!
