Blue for Sochi

Regular readers will notice a slight change to this blog: I’ve changed the color scheme to blue. Why blue? Because of the upcoming Winter Olympics in Sochi.

The main color for Sochi appears to be blue—observe the following merchandise available in the official Sochi store.

This is a rug. It may be ugly, but whatever.

The nice thing about this suitcase is you'd never lose track of it at the baggage claim carousel.

Okay, that last photo isn’t from the online store, but you get the point. Blue is a definite theme for Sochi.

Unlike all these Western fools out there who are screaming for people to boycott Sochi (if you are calling for a Sochi boycott, but you didn’t call for a Beijing boycott in 2008, you are a hypocrite), I’m pro-Sochi. The International Olympic Committee awarded these Olympics to Russia and I think it’s going to be great. In fact, I wish I were going. (Grad school is preventing me from doing so.) I am so excited for the opening ceremony, which is in less than a week. Bring on the Olympics!
