The month of May is over, which means one thing: I’m ready to report on the writing I did that month. It was my second month working on the science fiction novel. I’m over halfway done now, which is a great feeling. I’m hoping to finish it and get some editing by the end of June.

But anyway, back to May. I wrote a total of 21,722 words. That’s an average of 700 words per day. Unfortunately, I missed more days than I did last month—8 instead of 5—but oh well. I still wrote a decent amount.

So far in 2015, I have written a grand total of 99,240 words. That’s the equivalent of a longish novel. Not too shabby, right?

I credit the Writing Challenge with helping me achieve these goals. Seriously, if you’re a writer, you need to join it as soon as you can. Participants interact with a hashtag on Twitter (this month it’s #JuneWritingChallenge) and strive for at least 500 words a day, or 1 hour of editing. If you’re a writer or aspiring writer, come join us!
