I pay no attention whatever to anybody’s praise or blame. I simply follow my own feelings. –W.A. Mozart
I’m Natalie, writer of this blog. You can call me by any variation of my name: Natalia, Natasha, Natashenka… you get the idea.
I’m a fluent Russian speaker and am semi-competent in Ukrainian and Belarusian. My native language is English, though, so that’s what I use on this blog. I learned Russian during my undergraduate years, when I majored in history and Russian language & literature. I’ve picked up Ukrainian and Belarusian along the way.
Reading and writing have been a big part of my life for many years. I practically learned to read before I could speak and I’ve been writing since I was about seven. I’ve written for an audience (i.e. the internet) for about seven years now.
I love history, anything related to Russia and the Russian language, and international affairs. That’s mainly what I blog about on here, with the occasional personal post thrown in.
I am a classically trained violinist and I adore classical music. My favorite composers are Mozart, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, and Mendelssohn.
Thanks for reading the blog!
